Kicking Off Our Blog

Marker. Take two!

Yeah, this took awhile. I only work on my website when I'm sick or depressed. I try to ration my health for the art since it's the most demanding part.

But we're here now. Rarebit, RSS feed, and blog functional. This weeks progress was pretty good.

I was actually scared about setting the blog up this early but I wanted to have it on the page in case any of the conventions we applied to make it here.

For awhile, we were absolutely sure we would use Publii to build our blog. We had even implemented something for it. But Publii outputs some really ugly formatting and it was a pain to go back in and fix all the styles. This blog is using Zonelots. I'd seen ZoneLETS and wasn't impressed but ZoneLOTS has better blogging tools.

The original Publii run of the blog we were a bit ahead of ourselves. Describing features of the website that were never going to make the final cut because I simply can't code at a competent level. GrapesJS studio has been helping a lot with the main pages but even these files have code that's repeating itself. I think I can get clever here. There has to be a tool that combines identical class/id styles into one class/id style. If there's not I'm shocked.

Regardless...I'm going to try to be more realistic of myself going forward.
